Beverly Harzog, Author of "The Debt Escape Plan"

I’m excited to welcome today’s guest. Beverly Harzog is a nationally recognized credit card expert, consumer advocate and former CPA. She is also the author of The Debt Escape Plan and three other highly-acclaimed books. She has extensive media experience and is frequently invited to speak at major events and conferences. In addition, she creates custom content for credit-related websites, serves as an expert witness for legal firms, and assists marketing research firms looking for insights about consumer behavior. More importantly, she knows what it’s like being in thousand dollars’ worth of debt and what it takes to get out of it!

Three takeaways from our interview:

— How Beverly racked up $20,000 in credit card debt and escaped it herself in just 2 years

— How she scored her first publishing deal.

— How a lack of self-confidence at one point in her life led her to irrational spending.

If you’d like to learn more about Beverly Harzog, visit her website and follow him on Twitter @beverlyharzog. Also, check out her most recent book The Debt Escape Plan… as well as her other books: Confessions of a Credit Junkie, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Person-to-Person Lending and Simple Numbers, Straight Talk, Big Profits.

My favorite quote from the interview: “Self-publishing is a great way to make money and reach your audience.” – Click to Tweet
